Can I get a British Gas boiler if I'm not with them?

My mother’[s boiler recently broke down, and it will be costly to replace it. British Gas offer a great monthly payment scheme for new boilers, and I was wondering if you would have to be with them to buy one from them?

She is with Scottish HydroElectric for reference.

    You might be able to but be prepared for them to bombard you with things like come to us, or switch to us first the way they are advertising at the moment it seems to me they are desperate for custom.

    You should be able to.

    I work for Scottish Power and you don’t have to be a energy customer with them to be under our Home Comfort cover (boiler cover)so I’m sure it will be the same with British Gas. Give them a call to check but they will probably give you the sales pitch to move her electricity and gas to them but all you need to say is no!

    British Gas prices for combi boilers are crazy ! Ask Ferroli if they can quote you. I compared prices between BG and Ferroli, saved lots buying from Ferroli
