Can you recomend a boiler for..?
A 3 bed roomed bungalow with 10 radiators. I’m registered for the boiler scrappage scheme but i’m confused as each plumber has his own preferred boiler. I want to make the right decision as it is a big purchase.

British Gas fit Worcester Bosch. When Worcester were on their own they made ‘Rolls Royce’ boilers. Now they have German expertise as well. That’s the one I would go for. By the way, Plumbers aren’t necessarily Heating Engineers. Just thought you should know.
I was talking to a friend who works at pts and he told me that Viessmann boilers are now coming with a 5 years guarantee and are very reasonably priced and thats with a flue kit. Sounds good to me. The important information you need to give. Is it a combi boiler you want and if so, how many bathrooms do you have. Litres per minute on the hot water side is paramount. I used to sing Worcestor bosch’s praises but ive had one for about 3 years and a pcb went. If i had to call their engineers it would have cost me half the price of a new boiler. Their not all their cracked up to be.

My own choice of boilers which are silent running and very economical as well as kind to the enviromennt are Valliant boilers,
Phooey . A standard cast-iron boiler is your least expensive, most reliable, and simplest solution. Stay away from any of the european "high-tech" boilders… any potential fuel savings are history the first time it needs service - and it will, and you will pay dearly.
From your description there’s no way to know if you have a hot water system or a steam system. Big difference. It could be steam radiators converted to a hot water circulating boiler.
In terms of sizing - I can’t help you without knowing the exact size of every room and how the house is insulated, the amount of glass (windows) etc. Ask your HVAC person for their calculations and DO NOT put in something larger than you need.
Vaillant or Worcester Bosch.
Only fit a combi if you need to.If you can retain the hot water cylinder and storage tank then do it.
Stay away from British Gas as you will still pay more, even with their ‘discount’.
Hello Reag.
Listen to Turdi.
He is top answerer and he knows.
Whatever you do in your circumstances don’t go for a combi. boiler.
Go for a conventional boiler, cylinder and loft tanks.
You will have years of trouble free heating.
Just one thing. Why do you want to scrap your boiler?
